A live APAAR Verhoeff validator, auto-allocated admission numbers via a template + pg-advisory-lock pair, opening-balance invoices for migrated students, and an optional parent-contact capture that sends WhatsApp confirmations at every state transition.
LUMPSUM, INSTALLMENTS, TERM_WISE, MONTHLY — and every style mixed per fee head. Oldest-first payment allocation keeps the ledger honest, discount grants freeze into the invoice snapshot at issue time, and issued invoices are immutable.
Every school a parent belongs to funnels into a single cross-org feed, per person. Fee dues, report publishes, attendance alerts and WhatsApp threads land in one chronological surface — no app-hopping, no duplicate logins, no "which school was that?" moment.
DPDP §8(5) says you're responsible for data loss. So is every Indian school we've talked to. We treat the backup pipeline as a first-class feature — documented, tested, and engineered so we can't lose your data even if we wanted to.
Every nightly dump is encrypted with age (AES-256) at the source, using a public key the server only knows how to write with. The matching private key never touches the production server.
A systemd timer fires the backup during the quietest window — no teacher attendance, no parent payments, no admin activity. Misses (VPS off, on reboot) are caught up via persistent timers.
If we vanished tomorrow, a customer with the private key could decrypt their dump and stand the database up on any Postgres 16. No proprietary format, no vendor lock-in on the data you trusted us with.
