The daily round, without the notebook

ऋणसाथी

RinSaathi (ऋणसाथी, "loan companion") replaces the rubber-stamped paper ledger. The borrowers are daily-wage workers, vegetable hawkers, motorcycle mechanics and small shopkeepers; the loan is small, the repayment is daily, and the collection happens on a doorstep. Nothing about that fits a bank core system, which is why these businesses still run on notebooks.

The borrower gets a login too, on the same identity as everything else. A borrower who is also a parent at a school on the platform has one account, not two.

Every repayment posts against one installment. The schedule is the record, not a spreadsheet beside it.

A field officer sees their round. The schedule is the record, not a spreadsheet beside it.

What it does on the round

Each of these exists because a doorstep lending business works the way it does, and none of it fits a bank core system.

01

Origination to disbursal

Borrower record, KYC documents, terms, a signed agreement and a generated installment plan, in one pass.

  • Borrower KYC filed into the same user-owned vault the rest of the platform uses
  • Terms and conditions templates per lender, agreement captured at signing
  • Cash or bank disbursal modes, each with its own reconciliation trail
  • Loan account numbers from your own template, allocated under a lock
  • Concurrent loans per borrower, with revision support after disbursal

02

Collection is the product

The daily round is where these businesses leak money. The field agent carries the schedule and the receipt.

  • Agent-scoped collection lists: an agent sees their round, not the book
  • WhatsApp confirmation to the borrower on every installment recorded
  • Overdue detection with reminder dispatch, honouring notification preferences
  • Credit-worth tracking that builds a repayment history where none existed

03

The borrower gets a login too

The same Udyamik identity as everything else. No separate app, and no new password, because there are no passwords.

  • Read-only borrower portal: outstanding, schedule, receipts
  • Loan events land on the borrower’s personal cross-org feed
  • A borrower who is also a parent at a school on the platform has one account

One login. Isolated database schemas.

Hot-swap between a school registry, a pharmacy counter, a shop’s bills or a clinic reception desk without signing in again. Each organisation keeps its business data in its own Postgres schema with row-level security on every table, so one account reaching two organisations never means one database holding everything in a column.

Switch the organisation below to see which navigation and which records the same login is given.

What is not in it

Worth saying plainly, so nobody discovers it after signing.

  • There is no credit bureau reporting and no NBFC regulatory return. This is a book-keeping and collection system for a lender who is not filing either.
  • The borrower portal is read-only. A borrower cannot pay through it; the agent records the collection.
  • Interest is computed on the terms you set per loan. There is no product catalogue of pre-approved schemes.
