In designWhat people call "the software at the diagnostic centre" is usually two products bundled under one login: hospital management and lab management. This is the lab half. It depends on the clinic App’s patient roster but is otherwise independent, which makes it buildable straight after it and sellable on its own.
A report would land in the clinic that referred it and in the patient’s own record at the same time, which is the reason to build it here rather than buy it somewhere else.

Three routes, and the patient keeps a copy of their own on the person plane.
Hot-swap between a school registry, a pharmacy counter, a shop’s bills or a clinic reception desk without signing in again. Each organisation keeps its business data in its own Postgres schema with row-level security on every table, so one account reaching two organisations never means one database holding everything in a column.
